Korean heating/cooking system

While in South Korea I discovered Ondol, the ingenious heating+cooking system, which is 3000 years old! One fire is used to heat the entire house (the hot air and smoke passes underneath the floor and warms it up) AND, since it is there, it also becomes the cooking fire in the kitchen.
